Note: This blog entry is not an attempt at humor. It is an attempt to expose the dehumanizing violence and widespread deprivations of basic human rights for which the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ali Hoseyni Khamene’i, must ultimately bear full responsibility.
Parenthetically, I urge all who read this blog entry to learn about efforts by the Iranian diaspora to bring about change in Iran by replacing Iran's theocratic police state with a secular democracy. A good place to start is to read about the People's Mujahedin of Iran (PMOI) at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/People's_Mujahedin_of_Iran. The United States has placed this organization on its official list of terrorist organizations. This is unconscionable. The PMOI has renounced the use of violence. The Supreme Leader of Iran, Ali Hoseyni Khamene’i, obviously has not. Please do what you can to support a non-violent end to the madness that currently has the Iranian populace in its vise. Write to your newspapers and urge all United States elected officials to take immediate steps to remove PMOI from the list of terrorist organizations. Great Britain and the European Union have done this. Support the cause of non-violence in Iran now. Peace in the Middle East depends on each of us accepting and acting in accordance with our self-evident moral and ethical responsibilities.

Iran: Basij member describes election abuse
Updated on 16 December 2009
A defecting member of the infamous Basij militia, the men who wounded and killed in the aftermath of the Iran elections in the summer, talks to Lindsey Hilsum about what he witnessed.
"I've lost my world and I've lost my religion" - the words of a former Iranian Basij militia member who says he witnessed killings and tried to stop rapes during the uprising that followed the disputed Presidential election in June.
After months of stories by witnesses and victims, we are now getting a picture of what went on by a man who claims he was part of the group ordered to carry out attacks.
NEW YORK-Saying he could no longer stand idly by while a vital part of American culture is lost forever, activist and Broadway producer Mel Brooks has founded a private nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the word "schmuck."
An emotional Brooks stopped short of kvetching at a schmuck fundraiser Monday.

So I made a rookie mistake after getting a call yesterday from Bob Gonzo. You know, Bob Gonzo, the moving primal force behind "Jigglin Island" and "www.comedymondays.com" and, perhaps most notably, THE BOB GONZO SHOW. He invited me to be on for about five minutes or so. And I accepted his invitation and lost all account of time once I was enveloped by the big black hole of the internet ... where you perform in the hope that someone out there will supplant a frown with a tender smile. Just how many are the ways we can have a positive impact.
I will be your host on Thursday, April 10 at COOL BEANS, the coffeehouse on 304 Kinderkamack Road in Oradell, New Jersey. Whether you perform or seek great humor, come and enjoy!
